Our Marine Corps League Detachment is a veteran organization comprised of Honorably Discharged
Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and Associates. Our mission includes assisting veterans, their families, and the
community. We are offering four (4) $1000.00 scholarships to graduating seniors from any high school
in Terrebonne Parish.
To qualify, the applicant will need to meet the following requirements:
- 1. The applicant must be planning on attending a college, community college, technical college, or
trade school beginning in the fall semester year 2025 and have an acceptance letter from the
institution they will be attending.
- 2. The applicant must be an immediate family member of an Honorably Discharged veteran of any
branch of the United States Military. Family members include parents, stepparents,
grandparents, sibling, stepsibling, aunt/uncle, or any foster/adopted family member described
above.
- 3. The applicant must have a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 grading scale.
- 4. The applicant must submit an essay of no less than five hundred words which must include your
veteran family member, how their service has impacted your life, and how you plan to become a
productive member of society emphasizing how you have demonstrated values such as respect,
patriotism, attitude, and self-discipline.
Applicants are required to submit essays, acceptance letter, cover sheet, and transcripts digitally by
midnight May 1, 2025. The Marine Corps League Detachment Scholarship Committee will judge all
essays and choose the winners. The winners will be notified after committee selection process is
complete. The applicant should provide their name, contact information, and the name of the school
they are graduating from on a cover sheet.
